Big update

About a year ago I noticed things were slowing down for me. I started looking for new job opportunities and I saw a tweet passing by on my Twitter timeline. It was a tweet from Mattias (co-founder of Oh Dear), he was looking for people to help him develop a web application in the crypto space.

Thinking I wouldn’t be skilled enough for the job I decided to apply anyways. The interview went well and soon I got a cal that I made it to the team. After a couple months I was getting up to speed. Especially the frontend fit me well. Fastforward to the end of last year, I was told the Oh Dear website was being redesigned from the ground up. For the implementation of the design Freek and Mattias were still looking for someone. As the lucky bastard that I am, they asked if I would be up for it. My response: Hell Yeah! 🔥

There was only one caveat, I never implemented a pixel perfect  design before. We decided to give it a try and now 6 weeks in, working on it parttime, I’ve gained the confidence I can pull it off. It will take a while before its all done but it's going to be wild once implemented.

Knowledge I'd like to share

The biggest win for me so far is the amount of knowledge I gain while working on the project. A win I’d like to share with you as well. I'm going to write several posts on how I tackle certain challenges. If you’d like to read about this or want to keep an eye on the design previews of the new Oh Dear website and the application, make sure to follow me and Oh Dear on Twitter. Do you have specific topics you'd like to read about? Let me know!

To be continued :)
